Sanpete County Fair

It's a tradition each year to go to Manti for the Sanpete County Fair and spend time with Jake's family. We had so much fun going this year!

We got there and immediately went to the fair grounds to check out the animals and play!

Being a little farmer!

Riding a horse. I had one just like this at my grandparents when I was little
Being so brave and touching a bug. She wasn't scared at all!

Seeing the prize chickens - she LOVED them!!

At the candy parade
Kaycee's first rodeo!

That night Kaycee got super sick and was throwing up. She had been sleeping in her pack-n-play and had never slept in our bed before but did that night after throwing up.  Huge blessing that she actually slept with us when she was used to be by herself.

We had a nice big breakfast the next day and came home. It was a super fun weekend!!

Memorial Day Weekend

Jake and I both had Memorial Day weekend off so we got to spend some time together! Jake worked at the rodeo in Eagle Mountain with the VIPS crew Friday and Saturday.  We spent Sunday evening with my family while we did the May birthday party for Rick, Sarah and Brynne and had BBQ and talked.  The next day we woke up, had a yummy breakfast and got ready to go visit some family grave sites.

Kaycee had strawberries for the first time and loved them!
Visting my Grammy and Beebaw in the Orem Cemetery

Visting Jake's Grandpa Kay {who Kaycee was named after} in Pleasant Grove Cemetery

We came home and took a nice nap afterwards and then had a late lunch. Kayc looked super cute after her nap!

Jake worked at the rodeo again with the VIPS crew so Kaycee and I spent the night together watching TV and hanging out together.

It rained pretty hard and Max wasn't a fan - he had his leash on and sat in the house not wanting to go out.

It was a wonderful 3 day weekend, I'm grateful we were able to spend time together as a family and celebrate those who have passed on, specifically those who have fought for our country.

Weekend away {Kaycee's 1st road trip}

We had the chance a few weeks ago to go up to a friend's cabin for the weekend near Park City. It was a much needed break from the "norm" and I'm so glad we got to go! We went with the Richardson's, the Lovell's, the D'Agostini's and the Myers - they are all families in our ward!

She kept trying to crawl in the suitcase but when we put her in she wanted nothing to do with it
All ready to go!
The trunk all loaded up!
We stopped and got lunch at Subway in Park City on the way up. We had 10 adults and 15 kids - we nearly took up the entire restaurant!

The cabin covered in snow - literally!
We spent a lot of time relaxing and talking - we had no cell phone service and didn't activate the wi-fi on our phones. In fact I didn't have my phone anywhere near me most of the weekend and it was awesome!

Panoramic Jake took

Messy black bean baby!
Going sledding! It was so much fun but a little intense and scary with Kaycee!
All bundled and ready to sled!

She slept so great!

Jake took a few pictures and videos with his quadcopter

It was a fabulous weekend and it was great to get away! We had so much fun getting to know families in our ward better and made great new friends! Thanks again Betsey and Caleb!

4th of July!

This past weekend was 4th of July and it was SO much fun! I know I said this about Easter, but celebrating holidays with kids REALLY is more fun than celebrating it as a married couple. Yes, the things we do are different because we have Kaycee but it is SO much more fun! Both of our families were out of town for the weekend, so we got to spend the ENTIRE holiday weekend just the 3 of us. It was SOOO nice to not be pulled in 20 different directions and just get to do what we want, when we want to do it!

We started out the day by going to our neighborhood pancake breakfast and bike parade. Obviously, Kaycee is a little too little to ride her bike in the parade, but it was still fun!

Not sure if she was tired or hot or what but she didn't want to smile for the camera
Daddy pushing her in the stroller
All the kids lined up for the parade! We have LOTS of kids in our neighborhood!!
After breakfast we came home and everyone had a nap. Being outside in the July sun is NOT my favorite thing, so I was super glad that everyone else was tired too. After nap time, Kaycee was all smiles.

She's so stinking cute it kills me. She LOVES her naps lol

We went and got some lunch together at In N Out and then came home and Kayc was already ready for another nap. I turned on a movie and a few minutes into looked over and saw this...

After nap #2, we got ready and headed over to the Chase Circle of Fire. It's a firework show our neighborhood puts together after we do a big BBQ potluck style. The food was delicious and the company was even better!

After eating and visiting for a while, we moved to the front lawn and got ready for fireworks!

She's starting to not look like my little baby anymore!!
She's perfected the "selfie"
Eating her toes
Everyone set up in the Circle for fireworks

Gorgeous sunset
The Scouts did an awesome flag ceremony before we started. Sure proud of the amazing youth we have in our ward!
Watching fireworks
Kaycee did SOOO good! I honestly am shocked - she loves her bedtime {8:00} and when she's tired, she lets you know it. We were out until 10:30 and she was still doing awesome!! She sat in my lap and just watched while she sucked on her binky. Jake was pretending that she was a firework and would squat down and then shoot up really fast and go "BOOM" and she was laughing so hard. She thinks we are quite the comedians apparently - everything is funny. She laughs at EVERYTHING and I'm so grateful for it - her laugh brings so much happiness and joy!

6 years ago this 4th of July, I had just met Jake via Facebook and we texted most of the night while I was at Stadium of Fire. Our first date was the next day. So crazy to think how far we've come and how much has changed in 6 years, and I sure am grateful for it!!
