BYU vs Weber State

The week before last, Jake & I got to go to the BYU vs Weber State game! It was at LaVell Edwards Stadium, so nice and close to home. I still have not been to an away game! My mom wasn't able to go with her season tickets, so she let Jake & me take them!

We drove with Brynne & Blake, which was really fun! Too bad we couldn't sit together though :( We went to J Dawgs first in Orem for lunch - it was REALLY good! I am not the biggest hot dog fan but man those were really yummy!! Then we drove to the game - traffic wasn't bad at all surprisingly. We parked right by their first apartment, just behind where we normally park {by Dr. Clayton's office} but because it was in a neighborhood instead of the business parking lot, we didn't have to pay for parking!

The game was really fun - we won 45-13. We knew we were going to win but it was still nice to win by so many points. It was SO hot. Like REALLY hot. I got a nice two faced sunburn - only burned the right side of my face because we were sitting on the north endzone. The right side of my neck, my right arm - I literally looked like two face from Batman. It was AWFUL! And my bangs were down {see picture} so I had a really weird tan line on my forehead. Thank heavens it faded after a few days!!

Yay for BYU being 2-0!!

August Results

Time to post about my August weight loss! I have decided to keep doing a monthly post specifically devoted to my weight loss until next year, and then I will just post about it as needed. Mostly because I will be at goal by then and will be maintaining and toning and that could get boring to blog about. ANYWAY here is my post about how August went!

I ran my first 5K this month and that was AWESOME - I finished in 32 minutes 11 seconds. It was good practice for my half marathon, since running around other people is totally different from running alone. I liked how it made me push myself - I knew other people around me were watching and it made me want to push myself hard. My half is in 6 1/2 weeks and I am feeling the pressure. I don't really like to run. It works - I feel sore and I am noticing changes in my body that Turbo didn't produce but I still don't like it. As soon as my half marathon is done I will maybe run 1 day a week, if I chose to. So I just tell myself only 6 1/2 more weeks and then I don't need to run anymore. I have been running 2 days a week, ranging from 2-4 miles each time.

Because I started training for my new position in Saratoga Springs, I wasn't able to go to Turbo Kick or Hustle with Brynne most of the month. That SUCKED. I worked out at home though - just doing Turbo Fire and my running. I definitely was still able to get some good workouts in, but it is just NOT the same. I REALLY like to workout with other people!

I got a FitBit! It came halfeay through the month and I immediately fell in love with it. You can wear it on your bra {if you are a girl and wear a bra haha}, on your belt, or clipped to your pants. At night you wear it on a wrist band on your wrist. It tracks your activity throughout the day - it seems pretty dang accurate so far! It can tell how many steps you take, how many miles you traveled and your calories burned. At night, it tracks how long you slept, how many times you woke up, and how long it took you to fall asleep. It has really helped me to adjust my calories in now that I know what my calories out is!

At the end of the month I started ChaLean Extreme. LOVE it. It is created by the wonderful Chalene Johnson, who also created Turbo Fire, Turbo Kick, Turbo Jam & Hip Hop Hustle. So pretty much every workout I do she created except for running. ChaLean Extreme is weight training and muscle building and I have been VERY sore as a result. It has lots of lunges and squats, so my legs are feeling it but I can ALREADY see results in my arms! The program is 3 months long, so I am really looking forward to the end of November so I can see just how much I will be able to tone in 3 months!

Because I started ChaLean Extreme, I stopped weighing myself. I gave my scale to Brynne {temporarily} so that it isn't even in my house. Building muscle helps lean my body and helps my clothes fit better and will help me to get into my goal pant size, but it may slow down things on the scale and I don't want to get discouraged so I just got it out of the house. Before I got rid of my scale, I lost 6 pounds in August. I think I had lost a little more than that because I did a cleanse at the end of July and that helped me lose a few pounds of water weight that came back. So I didn't count pounds that I "regained" and then lost again. That probably made no sense but hey whatever. The last time I weighed myself was August 21 and I was 23 pounds from goal weight. So hopefully another 2 months and I will be there!

Somewhere in the month I went shopping for new clothes. Like 4 times. It is becoming a slight addiction. I dropped another jean size! And I got two new pairs of work pants at Ross for $9.99 each! The last time I bought work pants {2 years ago} they were $55 each at Lane Bryant! Being able to buy clothes at Ross is wonderful! And I bought quite a few new shirts. And new shoes. I have lost a shoe size!! How weird is that?! So yeah I am getting rid of pretty much all my old clothes and old shoes and just buying new stuff. Getting expensive!! But SO worth it and it is an awesome reward for myself!

Ok enough boring stuff - here are some pictures!
One of the days I did Turbo Fire instead of being able to go to Turbo Kick - definitely still got my sweat on though!

Running my first 5K!

Definitely getting smaller!

Side by side of a 2 year 100 pound difference

My fitbit! It was an anniversary present from Jake and I love it!

Feeling pretty small, if I do say so myself!
I set up some different goals for September - I want to do Hustle 4 times, run 12 times, lift 12 times, Turbo 4 times, do 8 ab workouts and do 4 HIIT workouts. So far so good - I will keep you posted on how that goes!!

Robbins Reunion 2012

My blogging has totally slacked the past few weeks - sorry!! The last weekend of August was the annual Robbins Reunion in Manti. We always get together during the Sanpete County Fair and this year I remembered to take some pictures so I could blog about it! I took that Friday off of work so that we could leave before 7:00 PM. But we didn't leave end up leaving until 7:30 because the stereo for the truck came via UPS at 5:30! Talk about late in the day! Jake was REALLY excited!!

He seriously was SO excited. Like a little kid on Christmas. Made it worth every penny!
We called Sound Warehouse in Orem and asked if they could install it like right then and they said yes if we hurry! Jake took Max to my parent's house while I hurried and finished packing and we bombed it down to Sound Warehouse. While we waited, we walked to the gas station a block or two away and got drinks and then came back and waited for our stereo!

Love him!

The finished product - it has a screen too with GPS & Bluetooth but I forgot to take a picture of that!
After the stereo was all installed, Jake let me drive the truck so that he could ride shotgun and play with the stereo. It was distracting for me to say the least - the stereo can do SO many things and I wanted to learn how to use it too but I was driving! When we got off the freeway near Nephi we switched drivers so that I could play with the stereo too. Right as we entered Manti, we stopped at McDonald's {first time I have eaten there in a VERY long time} and got some dinner. As soon as pulled out of the drive thru, Jake's mom called to say they had just ordered pizza from Lotsa Motsa, the local pizza place that is to DIE for. Jake ended up throwing out his McDonald's since pizza sounded better but I still ate my salad. I told myself that I could have a slice of pizza but I needed to eat my salad first and by the time I was done with my salad I wasn't wanting any pizza. THAT FELT AMAZING!! To tell myself I COULD have pizza but that I CHOSE not to! After we finished eating we talked with the family for a bit and then I called it a night. My first 5K was the next day and I was really nervous!

My alarm went off at 6:10 and I got ready for my race. Jake, mom & dad McClellan came with me to my race. And mom just had her knee scoped and was on crutches. And she came anyway. DEDICATION! My in laws love me!! Kathy, Chase, Angela & Taylor did the race too! The race started and finished at the base of Manti Temple.

My biggest supporter with me before the race started

During my run I was taking pictures - I am sure I looked like an idiot haha

I can see the finish line!! And there is JAKE!!! I got a second wind right here to say the least!

Taking pictures of each other as I run to the finish line! I LOVE this picture - Jake and the temple at the finish line!

One of the pictures Jake took of me as I was crossing the finish line - AWESOME looking picture haha

I finished in 32 minutes 11 seconds! I am SO proud of that time! And Jake is mortified at how sweaty I am haha

Another shot of the temple after I finished my race. It was kinda neat running towards it when I felt tired {end of the race}
After we finished at the race, we went over to the annual breakfast put on by the firefighters. I got a free breakfast because I ran the 5K! It was eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and pancakes. HEAVENLY. Oh my gosh tasted so good. I watched my portions though - and I didn't eat my bacon. Afterwards we went back to Grandma K's house and I showered and got ready. Jake was watching TV on the couch so I went to sit by him and fell asleep. For 3 hours. He was so nice not to wake me up haha. He woke me up and we went to the fairgrounds again to walk around and look at the booth's and the horse pulls. I got a really cute necklace with matching earrings for $5! Then it was lunch time. I was ready for it too - I was starving! We had chicken salad on rolls with veggies and chips. And then it was more talk time with the family - Rick, Kenna, Cassidy, Kayson & Maddie got there just as we finished lunch. We talked to them for a bit and then we went to the parade on Main Street. Jake & I hung out mostly with Chase & Angela and their daughter Taylor. She is ADORABLE. Should have taken pictures!!

Then we went to the rodeo. My rodeo ticket was free because of the 5K! Kenna, Cassidy & I talked almost the entire time so I remember very little of the rodeo but it was REALLY fun. They introduced me to a make-up site called "ELF" {eyes lips face} that sells really good quality make up that is similar to bare minerals for REALLY inexpensive prices. And Cody & Sara brought their cute new Maltese Yorkie that I snuggled with for a very long time.

I look like a one eyed monster!
Rodeo lovin'
The rodeo ended around 11 and I was SO tired that I went straight to bed. The next morning we had muffins and fruit with the family and then we left to come home. SO much fun - can't wait for next year! And yes, I will be doing that 5K again :)

Leaving Pleasant Grove

This past week, I left my Pleasant Grove branch to start at Saratoga Springs. I have been working at the Pleasant Grove branch since I started at Bank of American Fork in September of 2010 and I am SO sad to leave there - I LOVED my customers and managers and co workers. My last day at the branch was Wednesday August 29. My co workers had a going away party for me, complete with the ULTIMATE salad bar and a delicious low fat yogurt cake for dessert. They put LOTS of effort into planning something that I could eat on my diet - SO thoughtful! They also got me a few gifts!

Really cute card that everyone in the branch signed
Gift from the branch - isn't that the CUTEST wrapping???
Inside were these ADORABLE rose earrings...
And this SUPER cute necklace!!
Gift from Kathie - cute tissues, REALLY awesome lotion from Avon and an ADORABLE notebook she crafted. Seriously, she is the CRAFTIEST person I know!
It was really sad to leave the branch, especially the people I have worked with for so long. But I am a big believer in change when needed and going full time and working closer to home will be really good for me and Jake, so it's a necessary change. PG branch, I will miss you. And Saratoga branch, so far I LOVE you!!

BYU vs Washington State

This past week, on August 30th, a wonderful thing happened. BYU FOOTBALL STARTED!!!!! WOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My attempt at taking a picture of the "Y" flag in our front yard specifically used for game days!
I was SO excited, and Jake was too. He just didn't want to take pictures and I just had to - for the blog ;)
You can't see anything on the screen but just know - it was BYU vs Washington State. It made me OH so happy!
Jake & Max watching the game
So excited that we were winning!!
Don't you love how Jake REALLY didn't want to take pictures? I'm rude for making him take them anyway - thanks Love!
BYU won 30-6! It was an awesome first game - things to work on for sure {cough cough PENALTIES!} but hey it's the first game. Hoping the next 11 weeks go by REALLY slowly!!

Autumn

I bought a craft at Crafty Wood Cutouts back in February for 50% off for fall and just barely got around to finishing it yesterday! I have to admit - I am pretty proud of this craft. The wood was 50% off and I had EVERYTHING else already - the paper was all scraps from previous projects. So that means I spent like 5 bucks on this craft! BOOM baby!

The letters before I did anything to them
The scrapbook paper I picked
Jake & I watched the Oklahoma vs Michigan game while I crafted.  Ahhhhh college football - how I missed you!
All done!!
View of the whole ledge with the fall decor up
Fall pumpkin on the kitchen counter
Decor on the table by the front door
Fall is my FAVORITE time of year - I am SO excited that it is here already!!! YAY!!!!

Our New Callings!!

Since I started my new job, I have been feeling REALLY busy and as a result, my blogging has slacked. Sorry! I am here to make up for it though - lots of posts to come! First one I wanted to post about is our new callings!!

As I mentioned a few posts ago, Jake & I both got new callings! Two members of the Bishopric came over on Wednesday August 8th to extend the callings. I was released as a Visiting Teaching Supervisor (someone who calls to see how the sisters in the ward are doing each month) and as a Nursery worker (someone who watches over the kids ages 18 months to 3 years old for 2 hours each Sunday). I wasn't super torn about being released from being a Visiting Teaching Supervisor - it was a fun calling but I was REALLY sad about getting released from Nursery. I absolutely LOVE my nursery kids and enjoy getting to play with them each week. They have really made me want to have kids - seriously. I ADORE the kids in my nursery class. But my new calling makes it all worth it - I have been called as Secretary in the Relief Society Presidency. GULP. The Relief Society is the organization over the women in the ward and this is a job that requires me to have LOTS of organization skills and to help support women in the ward that are my age. But they have kids, and I don't - and that immediately made me feel like I wouldn't be able to fulfill this calling as well as someone who has kids and can relate to the women better. I know that I was asked to do this calling for a reason and that I will be able to fulfill my responsibilities if I do the best I can because the Lord will do the rest.

Screenshot of the sisters I work with - SO blessed to get to work with Shannon, Angie & Betsey!
Then the Bishopric told us that they had a calling for Jake too. They asked if he would accept the calling, and he said he wanted to know what it was first. They asked if he would accept without knowing what it was, he said yes and then they told him - Secretary in the Young Men's Presidency. Ok mind blown. I seriously started crying. My amazing Jake is so fun to be around and will be PERFECT for this calling but I was still surprised because he hasn't been the most active person in the church the past 7 or 8 years. He does go to church with me most of the time, but has never had a calling before. This is a pretty heavy duty calling for a first one! He will be over the Young Men {ages 12-18} and helping the Presidency when needed with teaching, etc. To be honest, I don't know a ton about what his responsibilities will be. All I know is that this calling is an answer to my prayers - I have seen night and day differences since he was called.

Screenshot of the AMAZING men Jake will work with - seriously AMAZING guys! I am SO excited!
We are getting SO close to the temple - I think it may even happen this month! I am SOOOOOOO excited about our new callings and the wonderful changes that have already resulted in our family!!
