Celtics Game 2013

My awesome Uncle Gordon & Aunt Myrleen have season tickets to the Utah Jazz. In November, they asked Jake & me if we want the tickets for the Celtics game. UH YES!!! So they mailed us the tickets back in November and they have just been chillin' on our fridge. I am so glad we got to go to the game this year!! We went back in 2011 {Santa brought Jake tickets} but we weren't able to go in 2012. I figured I would post a few of the pictures from when we went in 2011, and then post the pictures from this year :)

2011 - we lived with Jake's parents. So crazy to think that was 2 years ago! Feels like we have been in our house for AT LEAST that long!
2013
2011 - I've changed a little since then...

2013! Got my new shirt at Scheels when we bought Jake's new Go Pro

I have been keeping this shirt specifically so that I could take this picture!! Now I can donate it to DI since it isn't fitting so great! :)
2011
2013 - just as we are about to leave for the game!
2011
2013 in our seats and ready for tip off!!
Look how far we are from the top!! We were on the 4th row! Seriously, these were AWESOME seats!!
Our view!
Warming up!!!!! I was super excited!!!
So excited!!
Half time - bummed Jake's eyes are closed :(
Left to go to the bathroom and came back with an ice cream cone... I have NO idea how that happened ;) People - I LOVE ICE CREAM!!
The game was super close, all game. I was pleasantly surprised in both 2011 and this year that there were so many Celtics fans. I would HATE to feel like we were the only ones - I'd be scared to cheer! But there were definitely other Celtics fans there. Not tons around us though, so I was trying to keep my cheering nice and not say anything rude haha. By 4th quarter, Jake was teasing me that I would have no voice the next day because I was screaming so much! With just a few seconds left and the Celtics up by 2 or 3, the Jazz scored and took it into OT. Ok I hate overtime. HATE IT! It is SO stressful!! But after an additional 5 minutes of play, Celtics still came out on top! WOOT!!! That was a tense few minutes though!!!

Final score in 2011 - Celtics won then too!
Final score in 2013 - 110-107! WOOT!!
After the game, we walked our to Gateway Mall and had dinner at Applebee's. I got it in my head that it'd be ok to cheat a little, since I don't want to be strict my entire life and ordered the chicken fingers. Yep I am still feeling a little bloated from that - BAD IDEA! I know fried stuff gets to me. Don't know why I thought that was such a good idea!! After dinner, we walked back to our car and drove home. I tripped 2 different times, sending my shoe flying each time. The first time was one shoe, the second time I tripped and the other shoe came off. Jake told me that I need to start wearing shoes with laces on them since I can't seem to keep shoes on. If that had happened to me 2 years ago, I am positive I would have ended up with a sprained ankle. I used to have REALLY sensitive ankles. But they have gotten SO much stronger since I started working out - I don't remember the last time I had one! {KNOCK ON WOOD!!!} I never would have thought  that losing weight would help my ankles get stronger. So weird. Anyways, back to the game. It was a SUPER fun date night! I am so glad we were able to go, and that the tickets were FREE!! Gordon & Myrleen - you are AWESOME! Thank you!!

Clint's Homecoming

February 10th was Clint's homecoming talk. It was also a missionary farewell that day too so it was a SUPER packed meeting. He did amazing - as usual. His farewell talk was SUPER amazing, so I don't know why I was surprised when his homecoming talk was rocking. He shared quite a few missionary experiences and stories. He also talked about how he felt really blessed that so much missionary work had been going on here at home, thanks to the blessings he received for serving a mission. Like Grandma Robbins going back to the temple, Mom & Dad McClellan getting sealed right before he left, me receiving my endowment while he was gone and Jake receiving the Melchezidek Priesthood. I held it together pretty well until the end when he started talking about that. It really was an amazing talk - I am so proud to be a part of his family!

After the meeting, we stayed and visited with people in the Chapel for a while and then headed back to the house for breakfast. Mom & Dad McClellan went for a gourmet pastry breakfast - every imaginable kind of muffin, a TON of different kinds of cookies, rolls & fruit with milk & OJ. Seriously - SO much food!

It was really fun to get to talk to so many family members. I feel like we don't see some of these family members as often as I'd like - I love the extended family I got when I married Jake!! And we got to talk with a ton of Clint's friends from high school, a few of his companions, & some ward members from his mission! Plus ward members from Mom & Dad's ward {me & Jake's old ward} so it was like an awesome big reunion!

I wish Kenzie & Emrie could have been here though - that would have made it perfect. I am so glad Clint is home - and I am so glad he went on a mission and set such a good example for our family. Leaving his job, his family & his girlfriend was not an easy choice to make and he made that sacrifice for the Lord. I am so proud of him!!

Clint comes home!!!

Ok so I am have been so on top of my blogging except for blogging Clint's homecoming! The pictures were on my camera instead of on my phone and I finally got them onto the blog so here we go!

Clint came home on January 31, 2013. That's the day after my birthday. What an awesome birthday present right?! Jake & I both took the day off and took it easy in the morning, and then got dressed and went over to Mom & Dad McClellan's house so that we can drive to the airport together. This is what we saw as we pulled up...

Love the yellow balloons & ribbon. It was mom's idea since that's what they do when soldiers come home from being overseas.
We walked in and I had a birthday card waiting for me!
Hug for my awesome mom in law. I lucked out - I have AMAZING in laws!
The carboard cut out of Clint standing guard over his red velvet cake that dad had made. We all got caught off guard at least once by a "Clint" in the house when he wasn't home yet haha
Close up of the signs
More ribbons & balloons
Leaving the house - next time we come back, Clint will be with us!!
We got to the airport in really good timing! We went to the terminal to see when the plane would land, and guess what? It was an hour delayed. AN HOUR! We were all freaking out haha. So we camped out in front of the bottom of the escalator's to wait.

Our view for over an hour
Anxiously waiting!
Got a "skinny" hot chocolate while we waited!
Jake got a coffee-free cold Starbucks drink - it's double chocolate chip without the chip {makes it so it isn't chunky}
Jake brought the Go Pro to record it and made this awesome handle ALL BY HIMSELF out of PVC pipe and black electrical tape. Saved probably $40 by making it himself! Good job babe!!
And then the time arrived - the plane showed it landed, so we lined up at the bottom of the escalator to greet him!!

Dustin, Mom, Dad, Macy, Jake & Grandma all waiting for Clint :)
Mom & Macy trying to be patient!
There were 4 other missionaries coming home on the same flight so we had quite a crowd at the bottom of the escalator!
Staring, staring, staring ... Waiting for 5 missionaries to appear
MISSIONARIES!!!!!
Everybody started screaming haha. It was like celebrities or something - I am sure people not from Utah looking at us were all REALLY confused haha.

First hug was for mom

They just clung to each other

Hug for Dad

We were all crying :)
Hug for Jake
And Dustin
And a handshake for Macy!

I kinda like that everything is blurry in the background but they aren't - totally unintentional. Cool shot though!
Then we gathered up our coats and stuff we had piled on the floor and headed to get his luggage. 2 suitcases, both with nothing in them haha. Dustin was lifting his with his pinky finger. We loaded everything into the cars and headed home!

We talked at the house for a few minutes, then all went to President Lew's house so they he could be released as a missionary. We talked with Sister Lew for a while - she is super into marathon's so it was fun talking to her about all her experiences! And then Clint came out {not Elder McClellan} and we went home!

We had Papa Murphy's pizza and red velvet cake that night - low key and just stayed at the house. One of Clint's companions came over later in the night and it was fun to get to talk to him. Jake & I actually met him a few months ago at the Apple Store in Orem. Small world right? It was an amazing day!

The next day was also pretty low key - went to look at new phones, went to Kneaders for lunch, and just got to hang out with Clint. It was an awesome long weekend {like I said, Jake and I took a few days off of work so that we could see him} and SO nice to have him home!!
